Pear
Pear 1.3 carat solitaire, custom made after the Bezet style
Pear cut ring, raised setting with antique style diamonds around the center diamond.
I don't know much about diamond terminology (sorry!) but my engagement ring is a white gold, pave??, pear/teardrop shaped 1 carat diamond ring. If you can give me a better description of the ring, please do!
My wedding ring has a 1.5 ct center pear, with pave diamonds all over the shank and band.
My wedding set is a 2.03 carat pear in a round diamond cluster setting. It has 2 ring guards on each side that match the engagement ring and made up of round cut diamonds. The entire ring is soldered together and total carat weight is 3.47. The pear is 2.03 and the round diamonds total 1.44 carats.
This set was my grandmothers which she received from my grandfather as an anniversary gift or "upgrade". She has since decided that she wants to continue to wear her original set which she received from him and when I got married, she passed this set on to me. The small diamond band that I wear is also my grandmothers and was given to her when they first got married and couldn't afford an entire wedding set. I wear the band all the time, but the larger set only occasionally since it can get uncomfortable and caught on clothing and such.
I apologize! My iPhone takes HORRIBLE photos of diamonds!!!
I really really have always loved pears- and emeralds. Maybe because I don't see them all too often on other women's hands. They just seem so lady-like. Regardless, I ended up deciding on a 2.76 ct. pear. The trillions on either side are 0.88 ct. each. The pear is very "fat" in the body- which I loved. I have had a lot of trouble though, finding a band to "pair" (no pun intended) with it. The 5 stone (2.0ct) band I have right now just doesn't seem to fit it right. My hands are very small- my ring size is a size 4.5 (This ring is quite reminiscent of J.Simpson's ring...and I'm not her biggest fan. This was not intentional.) If anyone has any suggestions on a band that would be a better fit, I've joined to hear suggestions! Thanks! :O)
Larissajay's engagement ring has a center 4.02-carat pear, and sidestones are .5 carat, totaling over 5-carats. H color/VS1/ideal cut/GIA certified AND VERY ENVYABLE!!!
