Top 10 places women lose there rings.

Loosing an expensive piece of jewelry, especially one with a lot of sentimental value like an engagement ring, can be a very heartbreaking loss. Pay special close attention to your ring when you're at these hots spots for loosing jewelry.

The beach

Ever wonder why there are so many guys with metal detectors at the beach? The ocean is a common place for women to loose their rings. The water loosens the skin from the metal of the ring and the next thing you know its gone. The best solution would be to leave the ring at home while at the beach. Added bonus - no tan lines.

The gym

Rings often get in the way of weights, racket ball, and other physical activity at the gym. Women will take off the ring with the intention of putting it back on, but forget to after the workout. Get a locker and put the ring there before your workout.

Camping

There are lots of reasons to take off your ring in the Great Outdoors - applying sunscreen, washing pots and pans, etc. Rings are small and can be easily lost on the ground, especially if the campsite has heavy brush around. The best thing to do would be to leave the ring in the glovebox of the car and lock it.

Down the drain

A lot of women will take off their ring to do dishes and leave it on the edge of the sink. One small bump and the ring goes into the garbage disposal and if you didn't notice it, the ring becomes shredded with that night's dinner scraps. Make sure you put the ring away from the sink if you take it off to do dishes.

At work

If you have a job that requires lifting, typing or any other activity that involves the fingers, you may want to take your ring off. Unfortunately, work often gets busy and makes you forget important things such as your engagement ring you took off for just a second while finishing that report. If you take your ring off a lot at work, bring a chain necklace with you to hang it on while you do your tasks.

On the slopes

Winter sports like skiing require you to put on gloves, which in turn requires you to take off your bulky ring. If it slips out your pocket during a bad fall or aggressive maneuver, no one may see the ring until the spring thaw. Check the resort for good lockers or safes that may be available for its ski patrons.

In the garden

Mixing soil and fertilizer is messy business, the kind you don't want tarnishing your precious engagement ring. Taking off your ring near loose soil and lots of shrubbery, however, grows your chances of loosing it. Take the ring off before planting next seasons flowers and vegetables.

At a hotel

Whether on vacation or a business trip, being on the go and in new surroundings can make anyone be forgetful. Leaving behind stuff like an engagement ring can happen. Be extra alert while on trips and make a check list of your things before checking out of a room - include your engagement ring.

The car wash

The chemicals used for making you auto shine can have the opposite effect on your engagement ring. Taking off your ring is a good idea at the car wash - except if you leave it there. Make sure you put your ring in the car and not your pocket when washing your car.

At the bar

Not all women who take off their wedding set at the bar have trouble in mind. Some may just want to feel younger or they're with single friends they are trying to set up and don't want to scare away potential suitors. Whatever the reason, alcohol and taking off the ring should never mix. Considering the consequences of explaining where you lost your ring to your husband, leaving it on is best - even if it is on a different finger with the stone turned inward.

Yes And there's an alternative to losing it

Or, if you're actually -wanting- to remove that sentimental value you from your life, you can also sell it. I did this since I'm now divorced. I sold my ring which caused me so much heart break on http://www.idonowidont.com so I had more closure from selling it, it helped me get over him!

lose not loose

jgengo's picture

It is "Lose and Losing.'" Not loose and loosing. Loose = my ring is "Loose" (doesn't fit).  If people misplace something it is  " So many girls Lose their rings."

might want to edit your post.  There are a lot of grammatical errors.

I second jgengo

Thanks for the article, but I have to agree with jgengo, the post is distratcting for all the grammatical errors, first and foremost :

Wedding Ring Stunt Double

princess and the pea's picture

I love this post.  It is so true.  I would die if I lost my ring (not literally).  I have a stunt double for my cherished piece.  It is beautiful and is a lot of fun! People compliment me all the time when I am all grunged down in sweats.  It is a beautiful pink amethyst solitaire that is bold and fun, and is a great alternative to losing my actual wedding ring! :O)

One opportunity to miss a ring is the restroom if you dry your hands with any kind of paper you might shift the ring off the finger and it falls with the paper to the garbage ...  Auszahlplan
