To All,
If you or a loved one will be purchasing an engagement ring set please do not do so at The Karat Patch in Mobile, Al. My husband purchased mine in April of 08 for 11, 000.00 dollars and last week I took my set in to be sized and this is what happened. Dropped set off Monday August 2 and asked if they would be done by the end of the week. Thursday August 5 came back to see if they were ready and this is what I was told. There were some problems sizing your wedding band, several diamonds are missing, and we lost some. Okay why did I not get a phone call informing me of this? Well, it happens all the time this is no big deal. FYI my 1 year wedding anniversary is on August 8 and I won't even have my wedding band to wear. I called my husband and had him go to the store the next day to get my rings. He asked to speak with the person doing the sizing and was told he was unavailible. Next he asked to see the wedding band and was horrifided at the condition. He then asked the owner of the store why we were not notified of the trouble they had with our ring and he replied they were too busy. My husband then told him that was unacceptable and the owner of the store told him he could tell that we were the type of people that were going to give him trouble. What! What type of people are we? The type that paid for our rings in full, work, pay taxes, and don't break laws or were we the type of people to notice that someone made a serious error and wanted an explanation. My husband responded that he spent 11, 000.00 on those rings and that was a lot of money. The owner then fired back that a lot of people spent money in his store. How dare any business owner conduct themselves this way. It is now August 10 and I still don't have a wedding band to wear. I don't know what will happen in the future, but please do not do any business with these crooks.
