I went into Lao Jewelers to get my father's watch repaired. They charged a lot of money ($150), but i really wanted to get it fixed so I went ahead. First time i went to pick it up, it was not working immediately. The second time i went to pick it up, It lasted about 4 hours. The third time, they had taken parts out (gave them to me in a small gag) and said that is the way it would work. After many, many weeks and several visits before it was actually ready, they gave it to me and it was still making all the noises! They said they would not work on it any more and that that was the way it was supposed to work. The owner (Mr Lao) was yelling at me that it was supposed to work like this. I know watches don't make scraping noises!!!! The refused to fix it again or even give me a warranty! I don't trust them with repairs. Why would you trust them with anything?? (by Michael2200)

Orient Star Jewelry is a gem! I've been a loyal customer for years. I bring all of my family and friends to do business here whenever anyone is shopping for jewelry. The prices here are very reasonable. Don't go to Tiffany's where they charge you an arm and a leg. The folks here are very helpful and will work with you to create the perfect piece of jewelry you're looking for. I was shopping for a ring that I had a very specific design in mind. They had something similar and had their jeweler customize it to the way I wanted. I was thrilled! I'll be back for Mother's Day to get my mom something special! (by cblossom)

Beware of the Diamond Connection and their sleazy sales tactics. They have a no refund policy on rings, but they won't mention this to you during the sale, that was my experience. If I knew about their no refund policy, there is no way I would have purchased anything from them. Just check out other engagement ring stores in San Diego, all have full money back guarantee for 30 days. Diamond Connection doesn't deserve any business with such a bad policy. The worst part is if you want to return a ring, you are limited to exchange something in their store, which is about as big as my closet. I recommend avoiding this store at all costs. (by john)

Not having heard anything abouth this store, I went here in good faith that I would be treated fairly and honestly. I will now check websites like these and the BBB before I think twice about dropping a large amount of money. The owner has 20 years experience of swindeling people.
