    3M makes a spray glue that will work just great for what your doing. It is used for several purposes, but it sprays on clear and will not discolor or run. Good luck.

    tape out the V and spray it with Kyron glue spray. Then pour the sugar on it. You could put a light coat of the glue spary on top of the sugar to hold it in place

    Try sparying the sugar first on a piece of cardboard to make sure the glue doesn’t melt it.

    Use a glue stick! Regular glue will show up, streak, etc. but a glue stick will go on in a clear thin layer. Sprinkle the sugar over top of the glue. If you want some crystallized chunks of glue, separate some sugar and and add drops of regular craft glue in to collect the sugar to create clumps. Put that on sparingly when you put the sugar on with the glue stick.

    I was thinking spray glue too. my mom helps with the prom at the school where she works and they use the same approach for applying glitter, works like a charm!

    Make sure you seal the sugar to the plexi after you’ve done gluing it down. Especially if you want to save it! Even if you don’t, you don’t want humidity to effect the colored sugar. Just a spray polyurethane should work if it’s done lightly.

    I would recommend 3M spray adhesive - the permanent bond type like this:
