We want a place that’s somewhat tropical, preferably at an all-inclusive resort. I know there are plenty in the Caribbean Islands (which I’m pulling for), but he’s not exactly keen on flying. Any suggestions, especially around Florida?? Thanks in advance!

So many choices in Florida! Do you have a preference on which coast? You can take a ferry that goes from the east coast to the Bahamas, or jump on a short flight from Ft.Lauderdale to Paradise Island and stay at The RIU which is all inclusive. The Atlantis has packages also, it is gorgeous there! Or drive to a port in Tampa, Jacksonville, Port Canaveral, Miami or Ft.Lauderdale and go on a cruise to the Caribbean. (you can park your car at the port for around $10-15/day) Cruises are the best value now. Great resorts on both coasts depending upon your budget.

why dont you take a cruise to the carribean? It really is lovely…like being on a resort. My cruise was the best week of my life! and they actually work out to be les expensive then flights, hotels, taxis, food, drinks, etc.

Cancun Mexico was amazing when i went their. I really recommend it.
I think the best places to go is in the carribean ocean.

If you want something extrememly tropical but no flying then for sure take a cruise to the caribbean islands. Not only do you not have to fly but you’ll see more spots that way. But if you don’t like that then Miami would be your next best bet. There are plenty of extremely nice hotels that are one the beach, some of which have beaches only for the guests and what not. And there is a lot of things to do in Miami too, like one day cruises, theatre shows, clubs, lots of dining, shoping, gambling at the Hard Rock hotel and casino (near miami, in hollywood), and more.

Since your entertainment preferences are somewhat outside my parameters for fiscal balance, I can’t help much with the destination. It does depend a lot on what activities you enjoy. For instance, if you’re into diving, simply go to the "mother ship" in that area: Grand Cayman. I have several acquaintances who dive, and they say that there’s no place like it in our quarter of the world.

However, I *can* help with the flying part: don’t fly. There are ships that ply the area, including many with passenger service. Get there by sea, and have a happier hubby on both ends of the trip.

    Best wishes.
