Hi. My fiance and I are getting married March 13 and planning to go on a cruise for our honeymoon the day after. We just found out while trying to book that because I’m 21 and she’s 19 we won’t be able to go, because she has to have someone over 25 there with her. This is ridiculous seeing as we’re both on our own and have been and are getting married. Will the fact that we’re married change this at all? We’re trying to get a hold of our travel agent now.

Yes indeed, as a married couple- Carnival makes an exception. Proof required. See full details below reprinted from the Carnival webpage.

Guests are required to be 21 years old (on embarkation day) to travel. Guests under the age of 21 must be accompanied in the same stateroom by a parent or guardian 25 or older. The exceptions Carnival will make to this policy are:

Married minor couple - The booking must be documented that the couple is married. The couple must have proof of marriage at embarkation or they will be denied boarding without the benefit of a refund.

Yes, there is an exception for married couple but you will need to provide proof.

Now since you are getting married just the day before, unfortunately it is highly unlikely that you will be able to get a certified copy of your marriage license before you leave. Since the 13th is a Saturday, the earliest you could get a copy would be that next Tuesday allowing 1 day for the license to be processed.

Why you are waiting so late to book your honeymoon totally perplexes me.

Once you are married you will have to provide documents that you are married. Without the documents you will be unable to board the ship. When you contact your travel agent they will be able to get everything underway for you.
