It is up to the groom to pay. I would say that if she has suggested a cruise, she probably has reasons. So if you choose not to do a cruise, you should probably take into consideration the type of honeymoon she wants. It sounds like she wants to be able to relax and just spend time with you. Cruises are great for that because you don’t really have any other obligations. You are able to just be together. If you had something totally different in mind, you should check with her first. You don’t want her to be mad at you on your honeymoon!
I was married last August and we went on a cruise. It was great. We didn’t have to worry about where to eat, or when, or actually stick to any kind of schedule. We went to the beach, we went scuba diving, we spent a lot of time just being together. I thought it was great. Anywhere with a beach is always relaxing. Don’t go somewhere that you have been a lot or that requires a lot of planned activities. You want to be able to stay inside all day if you want.
Congrats and good luck.

the grooms parents are supposed to pay for the honeymoon, but my fiance told me i could pick where to go. we actually won a honeymoon to the bahamas, i would also consider key west florida and st lucia in the virgin islands, of course that’s if u like beaches.

It should definitely be something you choose together!
I’d suggest Hawaii! Kauai or Maui to be specific

Las Vegas, Nevada; Key Largo, Florida; the Hawaiian Islands (or a cruise for that); or Colorado Springs, Colorado.

*Jamaica
*Aruba
*St. Kitt’s
*Barbados
*Bermuda
*St. Lucia
*Hawaii
*Cruises
*Australia
*Disney
*Europe (Greece, Italy, France, etc…)
*The Rocky Mountains
*Canada
There are endless possibilities. I actually left his task to my husband when we were planning and we went to Greece, which I highly suggest if it’s in the budget..

We went to clearwater Florida and had an awesome time.. We are beach goers so we sat at the pool and beach..
We stayed at the Hilton and also got cheaper flights from USA3000.com
Good luck!

My husband and I planned our honeymoon together. We paid for it. It’s his 2nd marriage and my first. We went to Aruba. We both had never been. It was great but there were kids around, some a bit obnoxious.
Tahiti if you can afford it. Hawaii is popular.
What do you like to do?
I’ve never been on a cruise but I have talked to a few people that have gone. They liked it but it doesn’t sound appealing to me at all. I don’t like how everything is so scheduled and then to get off they make you wait in a large room for hours. No thanks. There is nothing to do. I’ve heard that Royal Caribbean is the best cruise line from regular cruisers.

You should decide as a couple where you want to go. You wouldn’t want to take her to a place she didn’t like.
Choose a destination based on your likes. Do you like beaches? Nightlife? Just want a quiet place to relax?
Cruises are a blast. It gives you a chance to visit a lot of
different destinations without packing and unpacking. There is nightlife, there are relaxing days at sea and there are side trips you can take in the destinations. You can do as little or as much as you want. You can also meet up with other honeymooners and join in newlywed games to win prizes and bottles of wine.
Sandals resorts cater to honeymooners. They have everything and they are all inclusive.
There are a lot of all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico. (means food, lodging, transfers entertainment and alcohol are all included for one price.) Mexico has a lot of cool resorts that are getting raves from my brides. I’ve had friends go to the Jalisco resorts and love them.
Las Vegas is a hot honeymoon destination. You have the 5 star resorts, pools, entertainment, world class food, gambling and you can take side trips to Red Rock Canyon and the Grand Canyon, go 4 wheeling or rock climbing in the desert.
Decide together so its something you BOTH enjoy.
Congratulations and have fun!

Fiji
Bora Bora
Hawaii
I wouldn’t go on a cruise, I don’t think that would be very romantic at all. I think for most honeymoons it would be nice to be pampered and comfortable… personally
Good luck and Congrats!

I agree. Skip the cruise. Cruises are more about activities and things to do which is not what most people want on their honeymoon. After your wedding you’ll want to relax! I think you should go to a tropical island or beach. There are lots to choose from depending on your budget. I’ve been to a few and I highly recommend Barbados or Cozumel, Mexico. Avoid Jamaica because the locals are pushy and intrusive and the beaches aren’t as nice.

Salisbury in South England is lovely. You could go hiking and take the bus to see Stonehenge together.

Lately I’ve heard a lot of people saying they are going to Hawaii since the dollar is so weak relative to other currencies. And it doesn’t hurt that Hawaii is amazing!!!

i think it’s a decision you should make together - it’s not a male thing - but you should make the arrangements ’cause i’m willing to bet your bride-to-be has a lot of things going on so it would be nice of you to get the details taken care of
i’m going to ireland - my fiance and i are both irish so it’s our heritage, do you guys have something like that in common?
warm places are always nice…do you like the cruise idea? if you both agree then why not?

Skip the cruise - for lots of reasons. The rooms are too small, you might get seasick, the crowds are a little tacky, too structured. Yuk yuk yuk.
Airfare is going up, so either buy soon, or don’t plan on going anywhere too far.
