I was thinking about having a cruise ship wedding. I would like to have the wedding at the port on the beach. Then take off on my honeymoon. Does anyone have any suggestions for the best cruise ships? Where did you go when you went on your cruise?

We took Royal caribbean for our honeymoon and it was great. They even upgraded our room before we got there to a suite since it was our honeymoon. We got a table for 2 at dinner, champagne & chocolate covered strawberries were in our room when we arrived. It was an awesome trip.

*Word of advice. The time of year does matter when you go. We went the first week of August and it was awesome. It was the crew’s last week of a 6 month tour and they knew everything like the back of their hand. We took another cruise and it was in mid august. This crew had been on the ship for 2 weeks and they didn’t even know where to direct people to things. It was a bit chaotic actually. I had never thought about this before taking the second cruise but I guess it is something to keep in mind.

    disney cruises are the best.
sounds corny, but theres actually a lot of free stuff.
they stop at many islands, jamaica, atlantis, etc.
they have different stops, and you can get of, or stay on.
    their fun. (:

I have been on 8 cruises with Princess cruise lines. We had our wedding vows renew on the ship. It was very special. They have a beautiful chapel right on the ship, so that would be an excellent place to get married. I have seen several weddings on board ship. They will block off an area just for you> They can also handle flowers too. The only problem I see getting married at a port is if it is a foreign port, I don’t know how that works. Where you go on a cruise is all up to you, but I think I would pick a tropical place like Hawaii, the Caribbean, or Mexico.

We went to the Caribbean on Royal Caribbean and didn’t really enjoy it all that much. It was too regulated and was an older crowd.

Next time we cruise we plan to go on Norwegian Cruise Lines because friends of ours went on it and LOVED it!

Celebrity cruises are great - they are bit more grown up (no kids clubs!!) and the emphasis is on fine dining and luxury.

We spent the first week of our honeymoon cruising and it was magical.

    Good luck :o)

    My fav is Royal Caribbean.
I’ve been on Princess and Norwegian, too.
Did one Barefoot Cruise and one on Cunard. (big $$$)
    All over the carib.

    Hi.

Ummmmm….you want to get married at the port BEFORE you get on the ship? The ports are not that great!

Royal Carribean (along with the others) will marry you ON the ship BEFORE it sails.

On Princess cruise line (as Time Travler said), you can be married "at sea." This is the only line that allows you to marry at sea. I have never been on Princess, but it sounds very nice according to "Time Travler."

I have only been on Royal Carribean (which I enjoyed), but I think Princess sounds like what you are looking for.

    Enjoy!

I have never been on a cruise, but my ex’s mom goes on about 6-7 cruises per year and her favorite was Princess cruiseline. My parents also went on Princess (on her recommendation) and loved it!

I have done all the major lines and I would highly recommend Princess for the romance factor. If you want to to a port wedding though I would not go through the cruiseline. The Wedding Experience handles that for all the ships and they are way over priced!

I’ve been once on a Norwiegan Cruise Ship and it was really nice :) I’d highly suggest them because when we went we were on an older ship but it was still so nice. Can’t imagine what their newer ships would be like. If i ever went on a cruise again Id definitely go on NCL . Or i might try Carnival, because ive heard a lot of good things about them!

Princess cruise lines is a very clean well kept and elegant line of ships. And as for a beach at the port I don’t think that that may be a very good idea> All of the ports that I have been to are in a very industrial area. You may just think of having you wedding on board!
