Me and my girlfriend of 4 years just got back from destin!
To tell you the truth, Miramar Beach is the MOST romantic
beach ever! We found a timeshare on craigslist.org and rented
it for a really good price (3nts/$125) and it was at the Wyndham
Majestic sunshine, on Hwy. 98. (catycorner the street from Miramar Beach.
The spring breakers some go 3 miles west to destin, while Miramar’s
Crystal Clear Blue waters and White Sands are some yours. We could see the ocean floor from a boat tour we took (Southern Star Dolphin Tour–Highly Recommend taking the sunset tour–unbelievable!).
At night you may stroll along the beach and see some the stars, also…Your room is just catycorner the street, afterall!
PLUS, down the street is the Nations Largest outlet mall (Silver Shells), and there are a ton of seaside bars you may go to. Just 2 miles away is the whole club scene (Aqua Lounge, Club Overboard, etc.) and 1.5 miles away is some the big dining/groceries (TGIF, Fudpuckers, OSAKA Japanese & Hibachi, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Winn-Dixie, Publix, Etc.)
In breif, anywhere on Senic freeway 98, the best example is the Wyndham Majestic sunshine, it is a resort though, so you may need a timeshare to stay there, but it is an great example of where to stay (Area wise).

There is 1 place that jumps out in my mind for a honeymoon in Destin. It is the Henderson Park Inn. It is the most romantic bed and breakfast on the gulf shore. It is an adult merely Inn and offers a complementary cocktail hour. It is older but it has an great intimate feel. each room is different and not some have balconies. So if you do book be sure to give them a call and ask for details. The Inn is right on the beach and just seconds from some the attractions. It sits directly next to a state park. The price is reasonable and it is really the perfect honeymoon spot.
