We already know we want a destination wedding/honeymoon. We are planning something tropical such as the Caribbean. In the past we’ve been to St. Lucia at an all inclusive, we’ve been to Cay Caulker Belize. I’m looking for any suggestions/reasons/stories of places people may have to share. Feel free to expand and don’t hold back.

We’re 27 and 31 years old. Like to party a bit, but also love relaxing. Like some adventure, but still wanna chill. Love live music and great food!

    Thanks.

You would love a cruise! Whether you love to party or relax, you’ve got the choice. Since you’ve done a land vacation, I would recommend that you give a cruise a try! For one week at an all inclusive luxury resort in the Caribbean, it would cost the same amount for a cruise, however, the advantage is that you get to see more islands for the same amount of money without sacrificing any of the luxury. I would recommend a Southern Caribbean itinerary that embarks from San Juan, Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico is a real treat). Talk to a travel agent and see what options they have that fit you and your fiancée.

Don’t get me wrong, land resorts are a nice way to travel, but it’s kind of the, "When you’ve done it once, you’ve done it all" kind of thing. A cruise is a great way to travel, and you get a different experience EVERY time, since you’re going to a new place every day. They have broadway-style performances in large, professionally designed theaters on cruise ships, if you like entertainment, live bands at the poolside that play Calypso (since it’s the Caribbean), and the food is great! Since the food is free, don’t be surprised if you eat all the time! haha. There are also fully-equipped gyms and luxury spas on board if you want to exercise and unwind. There is always more than one thing going on while on a cruise ship. It would take me a while to list them all for you.

One more downside to a land resort in the Caribbean is If you’re vacationing in the summer/early fall seasons, you run the risk of hurricanes. If one unfortunately heads towards your island, you’re in for a miserable time. If you’re on a cruise ship, they can divert and miss the storm, and head to another port that’s out of the way and has much better weather. The odds are technically for you in the event of a hurricane not hitting your island, but the risk is always there. It’s also something to consider. The best time for a land resort vacation to the Caribbean is in the winter/early spring months.

My last word would be to talk to a travel agent, but to also venture the cruise idea. Take it from me and a million others when I say that a cruise is an amazing experience that everyone should try at least once. Don’t get me wrong, land vacations are fun and have their attractions, but a cruise is truly a unique and addicting experience. If you’re looking for a quiet, romantic, yet active and having the choice of partying, I recommend you look at Princess Cruises. Their whole idea is focused around giving couples a romantic, relaxing, yet active and exciting time on board. Cruising is quickly becoming the #1 way to vacation/honeymoon, and for a good reason. You would really enjoy it!

    Good luck!

Oh, and if you do decide to take a cruise, I would recommend on booking your flight the day before and booking a hotel the day before at your departure port/island. This way you can take all day traveling and not having to worry about getting to the ship, you won’t be jet-lagged and you can enjoy the sail-away party, and you will be able to spend a whole day experiencing the city/island that you’re on. For an extra $100 or so for a hotel, I’d say it’s worth it.

A Cruise is the answer. You can get a cruise for less than a hotel and the cruise includes all the food, service, pools, hot tubs, privacy , entertainment and a journey.
vacatiostogo.com and cruisedeals.com are two great sites to search.

With the flu scare you can probably be safer on the ship as you can avoid crowds if you want and there are sanitizers all over the ship. GO ON A CRUISE!

The Allegro Resort Playacar is a beachfront Cancun resort near the quiet village of Playa del Carmen. It’s perfect for a tropical style honeymoon of white sand beaches, crystal clear water and lush vegetation. Sailing, windsurfing, snorkeling and paddle boating are readily available. The Playa del Carmen area is popular for sightseeing and shopping. Their all-inclusive vacation package means unlimited food and drinks, entertainment and all activities are included in one price. This is a great way to enjoy a Cancun honeymoon vacation.

bucuti resort in aruba, even beach wedding held there, wonderful wide beach with plenty of elbow room, many honeymooners there of a variety of ages, the staff addresses you by name, and there are party buses that cruise as a group all around the island each night and a booze cruise to take for a few hours each night as well, the resort is small but pricey but they will treat you very kindly

VEGAS! You’ve done the cruise thing. Everyone has. If you are going to invite people out to see you get married let it be place where everyone can have fun. They have the casinos, the shows, relaxing resorts with pools and spas, the best clubs and restaurants. You could even ride a roller coaster on your wedding day! If you guys like to party, this is the place.

    I’m going to go here…

The outdoor night weddings are so elegant. Plus, for those who can’t come, they can watch it on the internet LIVE! And your wedding video stays up on their site for 3 months for free. Go to the site and check it out. Watch a few live weddings and a few that are on the site. They do everything from elegant to elvis to space aliens, anything you want, they can do.
