Would a 1.07 combined Carat engagement ring look good on a size 7 finger?

The ring is marquise with round side stones all around. The center marquise diamond is .5 carats, which I know isn’t that big, but will the stones surrounding it make it look bigger? If it helps, I have thin and long fingers.

Hi, rather than worrying too much about the size and combined weight of the diamonds, I’s be giving more consideration to the QUALITY of the diamonds. Bear in mind that 0.50ct is a decent size, so invest in the quality of this diamond rather than worry about if other diamonds will make the whole ring look bigger. Buy what you can afford.

don’t be disappointed in whatever he gets you. he is trying. i don’t think it will look bad on any size finger. the surrounding stones will make it look bigger.

Definitely. I think 1 ct looks decent on anyone. You definitely can’t say it’s too small, and it’s not too big either, it’s just right. The stones around the center should enhance the look as well.
Here’s a link to some marquise rings on hands to give you an idea: http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=52570

You get whatever ring you can afford. Traditionally side stone will make the center stone look smaller, especially when it’s as small as .5 carat. The longer your fingers are the larger a ring you can wear. However if that’s what you can afford, that’s what you buy. No point going into debt in this economy just to have a bigger ring.
You can always replace the center stone later. My mother has a .5 carat stone that she’s never had replaced b/c that’s the ring he proposed with. Both her daughters have larger diamonds than she had, but she thinks back upon that time. He was fresh out of high school with his first job, the war was just starting up in Vietnam and sometimes they barely had enough money to buy bread and peanut butter for dinner. But that ring has lasted since 65, though 45 years of marriage.
